Godzilla first emerged from the Pacific Ocean in 1954. Having a gigantic mutant lizard (think T-Rex on steroids) transformed by intense radiation, who stands as tall as a skyscraper and is armed with the power to shoot a radioactive beam from his mouth can be quite a hazard for a city, but Tokyo seems to keep rebuilding—only to have Godzilla return for more destruction.
