Dick Grayson eventually moved on to become Nightwing, a hero in his own right and has even donned the bat cape and cowl suit himself.

Since Grayson, several others have taken over the Robin mantle, including Jason Todd (also a circus acrobat who died at the hands of the Joker,) Tim Drake, and female Stephanie Brown (who has moved on to become the new Batgirl), and most recently Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Unlike stories with the previous Robins, the most recent ones which include Damian, a trained killer, have a much darker, grittier storyline.
