Forced to land for repairs on planet Tatooine, they discover Anakin Skywalker, a boy with great control of the Force. Both Jedi, Qui-Gon and Obi Wan, feel that Anakin is the “Chosen One,” of an ancient prophecy, who “is the one who will bring balance to the Force.” When Qui-Gon is killed by Darth Maul, a Sith lord, Anakin’s Jedi training falls on apprentice Obi-Wan. Sith lord Palpatine recognizes that having the “Chosen One" by his side would only benefit the Dark Side and begins to manipulate Anakin towards the path of the Dark Side. Palpatine orchestrates the Clone Wars to overthrow the Republic.

Concurrently, Anakin and Queen Amidala fall in love and marry. Hoping to avoid his vision where Padmé dies in childbirth, Anakin surrenders to the Palpatine and becomes Darth Vader while Palpatine makes himself Emperor. The Republic is defeated and is replace with the new Galactic Empire. Most of the Jedi Council is slaughtered while Vader and Obi-Wan battle with lightsabers, which, as a result leaves Vader limbless and near death. Rescued by Palpatine, Vader can only survive encased in a suit of black armor that keeps him artificially alive. Inevitably, Queen Amidala dies giving birth to twins Luke and Leia who are taken away and hidden.

Years later, the Empire has built the Death Star, a weapon capable of destroying entire planets, but a Rebel Alliance has grown, led by Princess Leia. She hides “stolen” Death Star blueprints with a holographic message within a droid, R2-D2, just before she is captured by the evil Lord Vader, right hand of the Emperor, and unbeknownst to both her and Vader, her father. R2-D2 and fellow protocol droid C-3PO manage to escape to Tatooine, where they are sold to Luke Skywalker’s family to help out on their moisture farm. Luke discovers Leia’s hidden message and the trio embark on a quest to find its intended recipient, Obi-Wan.

Luke learns his father was a Jedi defeated by Vader, and he joins Obi-Wan on a mission to help the Rebels. Befriending smuggler Han Solo and his Wookiee cohort, Chewbacca, they invade the Death Star where Vader kills Obi-Wan. However, all is not lost as the others manage to escape and help the Rebels destroy the Death Star.

Luke seeks out the last Jedi, Yoda, to continue training. Before Yoda dies, Luke learns that Darth Vader is actually his father and Leia his twin sister and that the only way that Luke can become a true Jedi is if he were to confront his father face-to-face. Luke overcomes Vader in a duel, but spares his life, enraging Palpatine who sets out to destroy Luke. To save his son, Vader intervenes, ending both Palpatine’s life and his own. His sacrifice allows Anakin to reclaim his honor as a Jedi and help the Rebel Alliance defeat the Galactic Empire. Let everyone think you’re a Jedi by wearing one of our Star Wars t-shirts.
