Wolverine possesses bone claws, enhanced senses and agility. Wolverine’s most impressive power is his healing factor. Able to recover from the most grievous of wounds, this power made him a target of the Weapon X program. Looking to make mutant super soldiers, the scientists in Weapon X bonded Wolverine’s skeleton with adamantium, a nigh-unbreakable metal. This gave Wolverine enhanced endurance and gave his claws the ability to cut through almost any metal, the only exception being adamantium itself and the shield of Captain America. Wolverine is also prone to states of berserker rage due to his feral nature, during these times he is impossible to reason with and will lash out at friend and foe alike.

Wolverine has long been associated with the X-Men ever since Charles Xavier had to recruit a second team to rescue the original members. Wolverine has shared a rivalry and friendship with team leader Cyclops and had often competed for the affection of Jean Grey. Wolverine has also been a member of the New Avengers and the mutant black ops squad known as X-Force. Wolverine has made many enemies in his lifetime such as Sabretooth, Magneto and Lady Deathstrike.
